Position Duties/Responsibilities
DT - 03 Duties include inspections, repairs, and repacks of emergency egress/life support equipment. Participate in the design and/or development of new parachute equipment.
Additional duties include performing quality assurance inspections and repair of fleet parachutes and life rafts. They will review and provide input on packing instructions. May also include assisting in mishap and engineering investigations that result from Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR) and performing reviews of engineering drawings and technical manuals. Must be able to understand/interpret Engineering drawings when making test equipment/articles. Independently, perform fabrication of textile items for test and evaluation of parachute systems, ALSS and Naval Airborne Operations gear and accessories with little or no oversight. Fabricating textile closing loops, bridles, Mylar bags, and hermetically sealing parachute systems. Perform basic sewing machine maintenance and repair. They will need to obtain and maintain appropriate NAWCWD Ordinance handling qualifications.
