Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) Hardware & Infrastructure Engineering's ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL DESIGN DEPARTMENT leads the mechanical and electrical hardware design, development and production of DoD, international military and COTS Air Traffic Control Systems.

The AIR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MECHANICAL DESIGN SECTION, located in MARLBOROUGH, MA is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to support the design and development of various design tasks for established programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Support Mechanical design and documentation of hardware such as electronic equipment racks and components, air traffic management consoles, etc. Support senior engineers prepare design reviews and resolve action items, support generation of design artifacts such as technical drawings.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Ability to apply basic engineering principles, theories and concepts
• Ability to develop solutions to routine technical problems
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to articulate status and results
• Possess good written and oral communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools
• Experience in modeling parts and assemblies using Creo or similar CAD system

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge/basic understanding of thermal and structural analysis

EDUCATION:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
• A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is desired (PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR MOST RECENT TRANSCRIPT)

THIS POSITION CAN BE A SALARY GRADE ST02, SALARY GRADE ST03, OR SALARY GRADE ST04 BASED ON THE CANDIDATE’S QUALIFICATIONS AS THEY RELATE TO THE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND RESPONSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION.

• ST02 (TechStudent-Sophomore) Sophomore status – must have completed 30 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Sophomore status as of Summer 2019.
• ST03 (TechStudent-Junior) Junior status – must have completed 60 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Junior status as of Summer 2019.
• ST04 (TechStudent-Senior) Senior status – must have completed 90 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Senior status as of Summer 2019.
