This position will be with the Metrology Engineering team at Fleet Readiness Center East in Cherry Point, NC. This is a Civil Service position at the GS-12 level and will provide engineering support to the local overhaul facility as well as Fleet activities. This support includes but is not limited to:

• Developing calibration procedures for new tools and test equipment
• Working with aircraft component OEMs and local engineers to ensure all component testing accuracies/tolerances are achieved
• Investigating Out of Tolerance (OOT) incidents for calibration standards
• Analyzing complex calibration procedures to provide solutions to requests from Production and Fleet customers
• Investigating new technologies to aid in modernization of existing Navy calibration standards

• **Ideal Candidate Profile: **Experience in Metrology/Calibration required; Navy Metrology/Calibration experience preferred 
• Education profile: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university; mechanical, aerospace, and electrical engineering degrees 
• **Skills: **Basic Engineering Knowledge, Problem Solving, Verbal and Written Communication, Technical Writing 
• Experience: 3+ years
