    Position Description

    You will serve as an OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST (Propulsion and Power Reliability Technical Lead) in the Air Systems Group, Propulsion & Power Engineering Department, Modeling and Analysis Division, AND Reliability And Diagnostics Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The purpose of this position is to provide an expert to refine current processes and create new processes and tools to provide reliability analyses of naval air systems. The duty location of this position is Patuxent River, Maryland.

    Position Duties/Responsibilities

    • You will coordinate with the Propulsion Forecast SME (Subject Matter Expert) board and other customers of the forecasting process to refine processes and tools.
    • You will work alongside the branch head to proactively engage with groups that can benefit from use of the forecasting tool and process.
    • You will coordinate with experts in CBM (Condition Based Maintenance) to develop methods to utilize data for fleet preventative metrics and reporting.
    • You will work with leadership and other customers to develop and maintain visualizations of data as needed.
    • You will serve as the Navy chair for the tri-service CEA (Cost effectivity analysis) committee as well as work with the Air Force and Army chairs as well as OEM partners to maintain and improve the process and tool.
    • You will be responsible for maintaining and improving branch processes and tools and will assist the branch head in updating branch Standard work packages (SWPs).
    • You will coordinate with the Naval Safety Center and other naval safety teams to update the Propulsion safety database and trending.
    • You will also produce a yearly report on the Propulsion safety metrics and assist Propulsion teams in understanding the safety data.
    • You will perform analyses and adhoc requests required by Air Systems Group leadership.
