Position Description

The incumbent will serve as a Branch Head within the NAWCWD Security Department. The incumbent will provide supervision, management, and administration of security specialists and assistants across various security disciplines.

As a branch head in the Security Department, the incumbent is responsible for:

• Maintaining staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities; and providing leadership and supervision.
• Providing coaching, counseling, and discipline to employees; plans, monitors, and appraises job results; conducts training; implements enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Cultivate a culture in which people are valued and respected.
• Completing performance management tasks in a timely manner; including clearly communicating performance expectations, providing concise, accurate and timely feedback, making meaningful distinctions in performance and rewarding excellent performance, and holding employees accountable by promptly addressing performance and conduct issues.
• Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards; adhering to legal regulations.
• Administering all aspects of the security program protecting the Command from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to mission interests.
• Establishing priorities and coordinating work across projects, programs or people, and effectively balancing work demands while anticipating and overcoming difficult obstacles to achieve a timely and positive outcome.
• Communicating orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately to a large range of audiences.
• Overseeing workforce security training program.
• Providing the Security Support Division Head and Command Security Manager with accurate, timely, and relevant information and well-analyzed recommendations to minimize unnecessary risk and protect against the full spectrum of threats and hazards to command missions and people.
• Assessing threats, hazards to command activity, and recommends controls to reduce or eliminate unnecessary risks through the proper posturing of command resources.
