Position Description
Position requires a general overall understanding of the functions and daily efforts required in a Navy scientific and engineering library, with an emphasis on engineering, chemistry, physics, and computer science. Supports the reference function: conducts effective reference interviews; uses print and electronic resources to answer simple to complex reference questions; uses electronic databases to conduct simple literature searches; verifies bibliographic citations; provides bibliographic instruction in use of online databases, Internet, and print resources. Technical skills, effective oral and written communication, and creativity are applied to efforts promoting library services and products. Works as an individual and as part of a team to evaluate services, functions, and processes. Interprets findings, develops recommendations, and presents to management in oral and written format. Must qualify for SECRET and NATO security clearances.
