Apply to be a 1-on-1 kids ages coding teacher online. Our students are all around the world (mainly US and China), and they are ages 7+.

Pay starts at $25 per hour and goes up to $30 as you teach more hours. You will be a contractor, but for our first few teachers, you will also be given a small bit of equity in the company.

BlockSchool is the first 1-on-1 online coding school for kids. We have created a fun curriculum that kids love and an easy way for busy parents to choose a teacher and schedule classes. Our mission is to convince the world that coding is a language, so it should be taught at a young age – just like Chinese, French, or Spanish!

We have students in the US, China, and India (and growing to more!), and we need outstanding role models to teach Generation Alpha a skill that will follow them for the rest of their life. Although a fun job, we take teaching extremely seriously. We hope you join us.

Job Requirements:

• Sophomore, junior, or senior in college, OR graduated and under the age of 30.
• Must attend a top 100 US college, OR graduated after 2010.
• Must be AMAZING with kids and serve as a role model: empathetic, patient, and deeply kind. This is by far the most important requirement for the job. Just because you’re a great engineer, doesn’t mean you’re a great teacher!
• Must have experience coding: This could mean a handful of college level CS classes, or a personal interest in engineering with example projects to show it.
• Must be available at least 5 hours each week with extreme consistency. Every 6 months, we permit 2 weeks vacation with 2 weeks’ notice.
• Must be an American citizen who speaks English without an accent. Must have a consistent schedule for 3+ months at a time.
• Must have a (1) computer/laptop with a camera, and a (2) headset with a microphone to ensure your voice is clear.
• Must be willing to purchase some fun props (under $25 from Amazon) to make kids excited to video chat and continue lessons.

Personality:

• You must be ridiculously kind.
• You’re always 5 minutes early, even when you’re just getting tea with a best friend.
• You have strong beliefs about how to improve America’s educational system.
• You love your family, and over the years, you probably have posted a few photos with your baby and toddler cousins.
