    COMPENSATION

    • Living Stipend $32,000 **

    • $3,000 End of Year Completion Award **

    OUR FELLOWS

    Our Fellows are selected from a diverse group of individuals from various backgrounds across the United States to serve our students as math tutors; each Fellow brings their unique skill set to assist students' success. We are seeking talented, caring, and capable people committed to supporting our students in their academic and social development. Through this service year opportunity, our Fellows develop leadership skills, participate in professional development workshops, engage in public speaking and much more. This is not only a positive learning experience for our students but for our Fellows as well!

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    Saga Education's AmeriCorps Member Leadership Fellows manage a small caseload of high school students and promote academic success by focusing intently to provide high-dosage, high-impact tutoring that includes daily individualized instruction to students during their year of service. During a typical school day, Fellows will work in-person with students during multiple class periods and facilitate lessons. Fellows will implement Saga's proprietary curriculum to foster academic success and help students reach their goals. In addition to offering academic support, Fellows will serve as advocates and mentors building strong, meaningful relationships with their students. Fellows will serve as leaders at their sites, supporting Site Directors on day to day responsibilities, as designated by site. Some of the key responsibilities for this role include:

    • Assist in new Fellow orientation and site systems setup

    • Develop lesson plans and prep for tutoring sessions using Saga Curriculum

    • Mentor new Fellows, lead team-building activities and assist new Fellows with lesson planning

    • Facilitate small pull-out learning groups for students working on Mathia (or applicable platform for the region)

    • Manage the input and analysis of student data to differentiate math instruction for your students and adapt lesson plans as needed

    • Partner with the Site Director to review and analyze data and contribute to finding solutions to fill student knowledge gaps

    • Maintain attendance records, monitor student academic progress and provide feedback

    • Maintain regular ongoing communication with parents/guardians via email, text, or phone, based on parent/guardian preference and record efforts

    • Navigate varying technology, both hardware and software, and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise

    • Develop student incentives, trackers, and support with celebrations/awards/recognition

    • Proactively check and respond to emails and Slack daily, and regularly consult with your Site Director

    • Participate in weekly observation and feedback sessions with your Site Director, as well as weekly reflections and professional development for continuous growth

    • Lead professional development sessions in an area of interest and contribute to fellow best practices library of resources

    • Attend leadership fellow development opportunities and meetings

    • Build strong relationships with students to effectively set expectations and manage behavior

    • Build strong relationships with teachers, other staff and the community

    • Assist with FSA preparation and planning and lead mixed reviews

    • Support in recruitment efforts as a Saga Ambassador

    • Engage and assist with other duties as assigned by your Site Director and school site

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • You are a current Saga Fellow who has demonstrated the ability to take on leadership responsibilities

    • You are a U.S. citizen; AmeriCorps members are required to be U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents

    • You are age 18 or over with a high school diploma or GED [Associate's required for New York]

    • You must clear a National Service Criminal History Check and all other security and health requirements set forth by Saga Education and the school district in which you serve BEFORE the start of training
