Boston University (BU) is committed to providing a vibrant, residential education for our 16,000 undergraduate students. Through our 11 undergraduate Schools & Colleges, students gain depth of knowledge in their chosen major. Through the BU Hub, our innovative general education curriculum, students follow their interests as they gain the breadth of knowledge and essential skills necessary to navigate our complex and interconnected world. Guided by our expert faculty and collaborating with peers from over 100 countries, students augment their classroom learning be engaging in cutting-edge research, artistic production, innovation and entrepreneurship, experiential learning, and global exploration.
To ensure that undergraduates are well prepared to make the most of the vast array of opportunities Boston University offers, the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Affairs is launching a new initiative focused on first-year students. The goal of this initiative is to support the integration of our newest students into our academic community and to provide them with a solid foundation for success. Seven First-Year Success Advisors will collaborate with faculty and staff across campus to advise and support our first-year students, connecting them with opportunities, resources, and people, and engaging them in the intellectual life of the community.
