  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking applications for a Full-Time professional staff position of Assistant Manager of Dance Programs. This position will assist the Dance Coordinator in overseeing the dance programs staff, employees, facility and programming including but not limited to Pilates and aerial dance. This position includes assisting with programming, managing, marketing, and evaluating the dance programs which include the Physical Development Program (PDP) and Specialized noncredit classes, children's classes and summer camp, community outreach, productions and special events, student dance company, and private instructional training.

    Essential Functions include managing operations, developing new programs, updating protocols and curriculum based on market industry and trends, potentially teaching courses, and hiring, training and evaluating staff members. Manage daily communications, safety inspections, and equipment inventory. Serve as a mentor to the student run Dance Theatre Group and help provide support to the overall dance professional team, including dance theater operations.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor's degree required. Masters degree in dance or higher education preferred.
    • Certification in Pilates or training in aerial dance preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in administration, performance, and/or teaching.
    • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing programs in universities or studios.
    • Successful candidates will have excellent organizational/administrative skills, strong teaching evaluations, and the ability to work effectively with faculty and administrators.
