The Admissions and Academic Services Coordinator supports students in processes related to recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and testing. The Coordinator also supports students, faculty, and staff in the execution of various services on the Duncan campus.
Responsibilities:
- Disseminates and effectively communicates admission requirements and procedures to prospective students, parents, families, and other members of the public
- Assists student applicants with the Cameron University admissions application materials
- Supports the enrollment goals of the university by implementing effective admission programs and procedures
- Processes admission applications for undergraduate students, coding them in the proper admission category based on Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) and Cameron University policies
- Establishes and evaluates admission records for undergraduate students
- Determines admissibility to Cameron based on evaluation of academic transcripts and test scores
- Enters student information into the current Student Information System
- Creates a database record for each student by entering information in the student information system from source documents
- Facilitates admission and conversion processes via automated and personalized communication in collaboration with the Office of Admissions
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of OSRHE policies including data maintenance, storage/archiving, and purging
- Responsible for data clean up when assigned
- Prepares correspondence, special reports and materials, and manages e-mail correspondence daily
- Performs a variety of routine sorting, filing and distribution tasks
- Prepares student documentation for the academic appeals process
- Assists with software implementation and troubleshooting
- Contributes to the effectiveness of the organization by participating in appropriate staff development activities
- Provides timely and exceptional service to the students, faculty, staff, and guests
- Answers and professionally screens phone calls and emails
- Processes and documents student enrollment transactions
- Serves as backup in the Duncan Testing Center and Administrative Office as well as to the Distance Learning Coordinator
- Assists the Duncan campus Director with various special projects
- Assists with planning and execution of various Duncan campus events
- Performs and assists with other related duties as assigned
Required Knowledge Skills/Abilities
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to appropriately prioritize competing tasks, meet deadlines, and creatively solve problems
- Propensity to work congenially and respectfully with, and efficiently serve, diverse populations
- Computer experience working with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- An earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university
- Minimum of two years responsible employment
