Instructional Design Associate Arizona State University - Tempe, AZ $45,000 - $52,000 a year Instructional Design Associate 43520BR Campus: Tempe Job Description Under general direction, assists faculty in the design and development of online courses and course materials using multiple learning management systems (and other instructional technologies) and applying best practices in teaching and learning. Salary Range $45,000 - $52,000 per year; DOE Close Date 26-July-2018 Essential Duties * As part of the transition team, develop and execute a migration support plan for all courses currently served through Blackboard * Collaboratively work with ASU administration and faculty to assess their existing courses and provide technical assistance to facilitate the migration of those courses to Canvas. * As part of the course migration process, recommends effective and creative uses of technology to enhance instruction. * Assist in the creation of training materials, including self-help documents, online tutorials, and other multimedia materials to assist faculty in using Canvas and migrating their courses from Blackboard. * Develop and deliver face-to-face and online training and workshop offerings related to LMS migration topics. This will include travel to all ASU campuses for training sessions as well as to facilitate faculty Canvas Q&A days. * Remain current on ASU security best practices and policies as they relate to ASUs learning management system and associated technology tools * Provides troubleshooting and other technology support for online teaching and learning products used by faculty, students, and staff.Days and Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM and occasional weekend on-call work Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology or a related field AND one year of experience providing educational technology development services; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired Qualifications Experience with the following: * Delivering training, both in-person and online, to individuals and groups. * Designing, developing, implementing and revising online courses and course materials in a higher education environment. * Working in a higher education environment, interacting and supporting faculty and administration. * Online instructional design for adult learning; principles, practices, and techniques; security/permission methods and standards for course access. * Online course evaluation and Quality Matters best practices and processes. * Using both Blackboard and Canvas. * Writing, proofreading and editing instructional materials. * Troubleshooting and supporting faculty use of technology. Working Environment Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.
