    Description

    The Psychology Department at Azusa Pacific University seeks applications for a full-time faculty position in Psychology. Preferred areas of specialization are cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, or neurodevelopmental psychology. Azusa Pacific is a teaching-focused, liberal arts institution with research opportunities within our undergraduate department. Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching core psychology courses and courses in the area of specialization. Candidates will be primarily responsible for teaching, mentoring, and advising undergraduate students, and maintaining an active research/scholarship program and research lab. Ideally, applicants will have prior experience in teaching, an active research program, and publication track record. A demonstrated ability/potential to pursue extramural research funding is also desirable. Cross-disciplinary collaborations are encouraged.

    Specialization

    • Cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, or neurodevelopmental psychology with an active applied research agenda.

    Responsibilities

    • Teaching, mentoring, research/scholarship, university community service.
    • Prepare and teach course material (syllabi and curriculum) in the general areas of psychology and specialty courses in psychology, primarily at the undergraduate level.
    • Undergraduate research mentorship.
    • Integrate Christian faith and theology in psychology courses.
    • Engage in department wide student mentoring and advising.
    • Participate as a full and integral member of the department of psychology faculty.
    • Other duties, as assigned by the Chair.
    • Possibility to work at alternative Regional Campuses or Sites.

    Level: Open

    Qualifications

    • Ph.D. from a regionally accredited program.
    • Experience in teaching/advising students in psychology, research and specialty areas.
    • Ability to communicate the Christian faith with the discipline.
    • Ability to sustain multiple projects to actively participate in department and university life.

    Experience

    • Teaching and advising undergraduate students.
    • Sustaining multiple projects simultaneously, interacting with colleagues at multiple levels and disciplines.
    • Academia, particularly in the field of psychology.

    Workload

    • Full time faculty position to teach classes as assigned, advise students on academic and career plans.

    Compensation

    • $68,640 to $125,460 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
