Xavier University’s Dorothy Day Center for Faith & Justice (CFJ) is seeking applications for an Associate Director. The CFJ helps students build a relationship with God, discover purpose and work for a better world. The Associate Director is primarily responsible for the oversight and coordination of service and justice programs through the center. This position will work collaboratively across functional areas to ensure student learning outcomes are achieved collaboratively through efforts by the whole CFJ Team. This role will focus on the intersections of faith and justice both through direct work with student teams and programs, and the supervision and of full-time staff. The Associate Director works closely with the Director to help implement the center’s priorities and will assist with program assessment and outreach efforts. This position will represent the department across the university and will maintain key relationships in the local community.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES includes but not limited to:
· Lead major Service and Justice programs associated with the center such as: Advising Alternative Breaks Board, Summer Service Internship Program, etc.
· Supervision of full time- staff.
· Manage budgets for programs.
· Explore intersections of faith and justice. Work collaboratively with entire CFJ team to ensure student learning outcomes in these areas are achieved
· Assist Director in assessment efforts of the center. Help Director to further strategic priorities of the Center.
· Meet regularly with student leaders providing advisement, oversight and pastoral care.
· Form students in Ignatian Spirituality and Jesuit Values of solidarity and service rooted in justice and love.
· Represent the University in the Local Community. Maintain relationship with the center and community partners.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: .
· Master’s degree required in MA, MSW, MS or related field
· At least 3 years in a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities
· Significant work experience in the realms of faith and justice
· Experience linking education and advocacy to service and community engagement
· Familiarity with Catholic social teaching and/or Ignatian spirituality preferred
· Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
· Excellent writing and analytical skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
