The Senior Program Coordinator will serve as a program coordinator and student advising coordinator for the Health Science Program within the Department of Health Sciences at Sargent College. The primary purpose of this position is to be the central point of contact for students and provide direct support regarding degree requirements, course offerings, and campus resources, to support the program director in both daily and annual operations of the program, and to support program faculty in student advising. Responsibilities include student orientation and advising for program curricular matters, support of program operations related to students, support of faculty in student-related matters, and maintenance of program databases and listservs.

Essential Functions:

• Serve as advising coordinator for students in the Health Science program. Includes assistance with course selection, review of academic records toward degree completion, advising students in answering questions about current courses, and referring students to the appropriate faculty member to resolve program issues.
• Respond to day-to-day issues from students and faculty. Respond to student e-mails or refer to the appropriate faculty member. Support Health Science Program faculty to process student requested letters of recommendation and facilitate exam accommodations.
• Manage program databases to update student and alumni statistics and develop other databases as determined by the program director. Work with program faculty and SAR ASC to coordinate scheduling of health science courses. Create and manage course waitlists.
• Staff advisor to Public Health Minor. Meet with students and respond to student communications. Review submitted public health minor applications. Refer completed petitions for substitutions, waivers, and exceptions to the program director.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings with program faculty and organize resource materials for students, assess program needs and make recommendations to program faculty, address student concerns, and assure that calendar of events is updated per student and faculty availability.
• Work on Annual Report, assist with various Program Projects, coordinate mailings. Provide tours to prospective students and attend freshman orientation/registration Arrange meetings between prospective students and faculty and current students. Collect alumni addresses and distribute job availability notices, surveys, and information. Compile program statistics. Works with study abroad to organize info sessions and represents HS Program at study-abroad events. Coordinate faculty searches and candidate interviews. Support adjunct faculty needs (e.g., Blackboard, office space, course materials, etc.).

Required Skills

• Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
