  • Responsibilities

    The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking Interns to provide assistance in strengthening the region’s engagement in air quality and transportation projects/programs/policies.  This position will provide assistance in media buying and campaign analysis.  Applicants wishing to be considered for this position should apply online at https://jobs.silkroad.com/NCTCOG/Careers.     Ideal candidates should be able to work at least 25 hours a week while attending school.

    RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

    • Assisting with media buying and purchase management of advertising, print, event, and collateral items
    • Performing campaign education and outreach analytics/performance measure data collection and preparing associated reports
    • Assisting with coordination needs, brainstorming of advertising strategies, and outreach insights for advertising and other communication outlets
    • Assisting with the oversight of invoices and tracking payment of advertising, print, event, and collateral items
    • Assisting with data entry and database maintenance
    • Assisting with creative work and other elements related to air quality and transportation communication campaigns
    • Assisting with planning air quality and transportation events and committee meetings
    • Drafting website, social media, and publication content
    • Drafting elements of awareness campaigns such as Air North Texas
    • Assisting in the development of graphic, visualization and communication elements of the Transportation Department’s plans, events, programs, and projects
    • Serving as a representative of NCTCOG’s goals and mission

    Required Skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required as well as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
    • Experience with design software (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) would be a plus but not required
    • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Detail oriented, organized, creative, and possess ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines
    • General knowledge of survey tools
    • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment

    Required Experience

    • Must be attending an accredited college or university during employment. Pursuit of a degree in a related field desired.
    • No work experience required; at least one year of school-related experience desired

    Starting at $12.00 per hour
