MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate required. A Certificate in Automotive Collision, Refinish, and Repair preferred. Must have three (3) years of experience in Automotive Collision, Refinishing, and Repair. Two of these years may be the time used in obtaining a certificate in collision. Must have an ASE in one (1) of the following: ASE-B2, B3, B4 and /or B6. Two years of teaching experience is desirable. Must have excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
GENERAL DUTIES: Develop lesson plans and organize lesson materials. Create a desire for learning in the student. Be able to establish a rapport with the student. Be able to work well with the Department Chair, supervisor and peers. Be able to work with and supervise laboratory technicians. Organize and demonstrate laboratory experiments. Demonstrate, enforce and be sure that student adheres to safety practices. Manage classroom in a positive fashion, encouraging the students to be on track, and working toward assigned goals achieving results, and that learning is taking place.
SPECIFIC DUTIES: Must be able to communicate to the student and demonstrate the operational principles of the following:
Must demonstrate proficiency in use of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, D2L, etc. Must be able to maintain student records and files, Must be able to requisition materials and supplies used in the instruction of students. Must always strive to improve teaching skills and work to keep the program abreast of industry standards.
