Clayton County Public Schools -Cosmetology Teacher (3314) -Job Posting -Job Details -Title -Cosmetology Teacher -Posting ID -3314 -Description -The instructor for these courses will introduce both fundamental theory and practice of the personal care professions including nail technicians, estheticians, barbers, and cosmetologists. Emphasis will be placed on professional practices and safety. Areas addressed in this course include: state rules and regulations, professional image, bacteriology, decontamination and infection control, chemistry fundamentals, safety, Hazardous Duty Standards Act compliance, and anatomy and physiology. Additional Job Information: The instructor will enable students to experience basic hands on skills in each area to help them determine the pathway they are most interested in pursuing to earn credit toward the hours required by the Georgia State Board of Barbering and/or Cosmetology or hours toward their license as an esthetician or nail technician. The instructor is expected to maintain a co-curricular organization. Teachers are expected to attend professional development opportunities, GaDOE update workshops and join at least one professional organization and renew annually. In addition, the teachers should maintain current curriculum plans and resources for teaching and learning in preparing students for a skill or trade to attain industry credentials upon graduation. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required with a minimum of a 2.50 GPA on a 4.0 scale. A minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience is preferred.
