  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY OF POSITION:  Manage Adult Protective Services Program.  Provide direct supervision to Adult Protective Services staff.  Conduct some Adult Protective Services investigations.  Provide input into organization, training and operation of the Adult Protective Services Program, to the Director of OOA.

     

    1. SUPERVISION

      1. Provide direct supervision to all staff of the Adult Protective Services Program.
      2. Assign cases or other responsibilities to staff.
      3. Provide case consultation and direction to staff, monitor workloads and special assignments.
      4. Review client files on GetCare APS Database to ensure that timelines are met, and quality of documentation meets ICOA & OOA standards.
      5. Complete performance evaluations on assigned staff.
      6. Recommend selection, dismissal, and other personnel actions for staff and complete necessary paperwork regarding personnel issues.
    2. PLANNING AND EVALUATION

    3. Prepare necessary monthly reports and additional reports as needed.

    4. Assure that the services provided by licensed staff are in compliance with State laws, CSI Office on Aging Policies & Procedures, and ICOA/IDAPA Rules.

    5. Serve as a consultant for Adult Protective Services to the Director of OOA, providing input in developing and implementing policies and objectives.

    6. Provides and or arranges for training and continuing education for all AP staff.

    7. Conducts and/or participates in manager, staff, or team meetings and assists in developing client/agency protective service plans.

    8. Represents Adult Protective Services at various community meetings. May provide education by public presentations to increase community awareness of Adult Protective Services and vulnerable adults’ needs and issues.

    9. Maintains GetCare APS Database. Reviews referrals for Adult Protective Services, assigns cases, and review of substantiated cases.

    10. Oversees Adult Protective Services budget.

     

    III. ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES DIRECT SERVICES

    1. Receives complaints of adult abuse, neglect, or exploitation and responds in accordance to APS Investigator job description if no investigator is available.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:  A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Idaho Social Work License, and at least two years experience with the target population.  A minimum of one year investigatory and one year of supervisory experience.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Office environment, on-site visitation to private residences, licensed facilities, etc.  Work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Must provide own transportation.
