Distributor Outside Sales Representative

We are searching for a driven, hardworking individual to join our Electrical Distribution team and learn our business from the ground up.

The Outside Salesperson represents CED to potential new and existing customers. The focus for this position is to develop relationships with those customers to maintain and increase sales.

CED is an industry leader in the electrical wholesale market, with over 700 locations nationwide. This position is with the Rapid City location.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers over the phone and in-person in a friendly and professional manner
• Research and analyze the local market, analyze customer potential, and determine target accounts
• Provide the highest level of customer service in every role
• Meet commitment deadlines to customers and co-workers with frequent interruptions
• Perform processes and handle paperwork in a detailed manner consistent with CED policy

Job Requirements

• Ability and desire to develop meaningful relationships with customers and coworkers
• Extensive, demonstrable knowledge of electrical products and their functions
• Minimum 3 years sales experience
• Ability to travel and make sales calls at customer locations
• Ability to comprehend, read, and communicate in English both orally and in writing
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets CED required standards
• Math skills, including calculating percentages, decimals, and discount multipliers
