The Director of Financial Assistance is responsible for managing financial aid services for Metropolitan Colleges graduate students.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Provide advising and administrative support to graduate students regarding their financial aid options.
• Evaluate and analyze detailed confidential student financial information to determine student eligibility for financial aid.
• Provide guidance on financial aid applications to support determinations of award and denial decisions consistent with federal law and University policy.
• Counsel and respond to questions, appeals, and complaints of graduate students regarding University financial aid decisions.
• Administer certain College scholarship programs, prepare reports, and supervise additional College financial assistance staff.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree required
• Master's degree preferred
• Knowledge of university, federal, and state financial aid regulations, guidelines, policies and programs
• The ability to be detail oriented and to manage time efficiently
• The ability to process a high volume of financial aid applications with strict deadlines
• The ability to maintain strict confidentiality in dealing with students' financial situations
• Three to five years of related work experience in a college/university financial aid office
