Offering more than 100 certificate, associate and bachelor’s degree programs, Daytona State College (DSC) has responded to the education and workforce training needs in our region for more than 60 years. We currently have an opportunity to join our team of talented and diverse Faculty and Staff as a HEAD WOMEN’S SOCCER COACH. Since first taking the field in 2016, the Daytona State College women’s soccer program has already established itself as one of the nation’s elite teams at the junior college level. Playing in NJCAA Division I, the Falcons have advanced to the region final in three of their first four seasons and are consistently ranked in the NJCAA National Poll. The program serves as a pipeline for 4-year programs across the country with more than 25 graduates successfully moving on to play at NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA schools. With equal focus on athletic, personal and classroom success, Daytona State is also annually listed among the top-20 academic programs by the United Soccer Coaches, and the Falcons achieved a team GPA of 3.57 during the spring 2020 semester. Daytona State boasts one of the nation’s premier junior college soccer facilities as well, and is scheduled to host the 2021 NJCAA Division I Women’s Soccer National Championships.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a master’s degree with emphasis in sports administration, physical education, sports sciences or closely related field. A Master’s degree in counseling, education, mathematics, or science related field would be acceptable. This position also requires 3-5 years of successful coaching experience and the experience is preferred at the college level. Preference will be given to candidates with successful recruiting, camp and fund-raising experience. Candidates must be CPR, First Aid and AED certified. Candidates must have a valid Florida Driver’s License or be able to obtain it within three (3) months of employment.
THE MINIMUM STARTING SALARY IS $48,600. Minimal additional compensation may be granted for education and/or experience exceeding the minimum stated job requirements. This is at the sole discretion of Daytona State College.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The successful candidate must have excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills and knowledge of discipline/sport taught. Candidate must be familiarity with the teaching technology applicable to teaching discipline. This position requires walking, standing, stooping, jumping, and running; lifting up to 50 pounds; exposure to bright/dim light, dusts and pollen, extreme heat and/or cold, and wet or humid conditions when the team plays or practices outdoors. This candidate must also have knowledge of computers, peripherals, and software programs such as word processing and spreadsheets.
WORKING HOURS: Normal working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position requires evening, weekends and possibly holiday hours based on games and special activities.
