    Minimum Qualifications: H.S. Diploma, Journeyman Plumber/Pipefitter – Minimum five (5) years’ of documented plumbing or pipefitting experience.

    Essential Functions/Duties:

    • Teach courses in accordance with college and departmental policies and procedures, as well as Basic Course Information sheets and guidelines provided by ITPJTC.
    • Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance as may be scheduled or required.
    • Organize class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the course.
    • Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce and/ or select course-related materials.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Extensive knowledge of the subject area(s) in which the individual is responsible for instruction. Must have knowledge of areas of discipline to be taught, Hydronic Heating & Cooling, Oxy-Fuel Cutting and Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Soldering & Brazing, Drawing Interpretation and Plan Reading, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Steam System Technology, Piping Technology, Plumbing Code, Related Mathematics, Industrial Rigging, Backflow Prevention and Cross Connection and Control, Basic Electricity & Electric Controls.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and of effective instruction.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of community college students.
    • Knowledge and understanding of principles of curriculum development. Courses may be attended by individual at Washtenaw Community College (Hosted by the IPTJTC) to attain certified instructor status.
    • Computer literate and able to navigate in a Windows environment. Be able to navigate and utilize Blackboard at UA University for instructional purposes and activities required for students.
