Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must possess either a current Florida Cosmetology License or a Facial Specialist Registration. Under the general supervision of the department chair, candidates will teach organized classes in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, Florida Administrative Code, and class schedules and must have a strong knowledge of Milady teaching material. Instructor must be prepared to teach theory classes and manage a clinic floor as a working salon, demonstrating to students a vast knowledge of chemical applications, including facial applications while following proper sanitation and disinfection procedures. Instructor will be professional and have good communication skills that engage the students in the learning process on the clinic floor as well as in the classroom. Strong computer skills are necessary to enter grades and keep up with student evaluations and student hours. During interview with the department chair, candidate should be prepared to perform a demo in a classroom setting, as well as, on the clinic floor. Duties may include candidates to support the department in a Substitute Instructors role when needed.
