    Here & Now, WBUR’s flagship daily mid-day news magazine, stands out with its unique editorial partnership with NPR. The program reaches nearly 500 radio stations nationwide and attracts five million listeners each week. It airs live Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET, with updates and rollovers from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET.

    WBUR is seeking an Executive Producer to shape the editorial vision of this vital program. In collaboration with team leaders, hosts, producers, editors, and technical directors, the Executive Producer leads the strategies and execution of the ambitious, high-quality news magazine. This role also involves working closely with NPR News and WBUR’s senior leadership to set the agenda for compelling, relevant journalism.

    The ideal candidate is a seasoned and inspiring leader with integrity, humanity, and a sense of humor. They bring a wealth of editorial experience, a passion for storytelling, and a clear vision for addressing the most pressing issues facing the nation and the world today. This leader will serve as a coach and mentor, fostering a collaborative environment and earning the trust and confidence of the entire team.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • At least eight years of editorial experience in broadcast journalism.
    • A minimum of five years in a senior editorial and supervisory role within a newsroom.
    • Proven leadership and management skills, with a strong ability to coach, empower, and actively listen.
    • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work across teams and divisions to develop new products and expand audience reach.
    • Dedication to applying an equity lens to newsroom leadership, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of team development and management.
    • Deep enthusiasm for WBUR’s mission to deliver high-quality journalism and meaningful experiences that foster understanding, connection ~~,~~ and community.
