The Lead Teacher reports to the Early Childhood Director.
Lead Teachers will attend regular meetings held by the Early Childhood Director who observes, advises, and serves as a mentor to the faculty in early childhood methodology, curriculum management, classroom schedules, record keeping and the classroom environment.
The Lead Teacher is responsible for all aspects of their students’ classroom experience, as well as for partnerships with parents, professional and personal growth, collegiality, and administrative duties.
BA/BS degree required; MA degree preferred in early childhood education or a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience with children
Understanding of and commitment to early childhood education and educational best practices
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community
Commitment to professional development and growth
Education experience in a variety of instructional methods
Understanding of challenges of multi-age learning environments
Commitment to meeting the needs of each child
Computer literacy: proficient in Word, I Photo, Excel, Email
