Commercial Loan Officer, Corporate Banking
This position provides a high level of support to the Dean of the School of Medicine. A Dean at the School of Medicine has a very high level of responsibility of a prestigious professional school, he/she needs to provide the utmost level of support. This position's focus is to be an extension of the dean and represent him/her when unavailable. He/she will be the main point of contact for external Schools and Departments at the School of Medicine. This position will be expected to coordinate events, execute initiatives envisioned by the dean, and represent the dean in the most professional manner. This position is expected to understand all aspects of the school and how the departments function together to be able to provide solutions to problems that arise.
• Manages daily calendar and directs the scheduling of meetings for the Dean, School of Medicine • Reviews, prioritizes, and makes appropriate notations on incoming mail for the Dean's Immediate Office • Develops itineraries and plans and organizes travel for the Dean. • Transcribes and composes correspondence as required by the Dean. • Provides Staff Support to Executive Committee, Dean's Staff meetings, and other committees as appointed. • Plans and directs preparation for special events such as retreats, receptions, commencement, Board meetings and dinners hosted by the school, functions for visiting dignitaries, routine business luncheons and dinners and some professional entertaining done by the Dean, School of Medicine. • Serves as records management administrator for the Dean's Immediate Office. • Assists in the collection of data and preparation of reports for various projects. • Organizes and coordinates all aspects of LCME accreditation survey visits. • Directs annual charitable fund drive for the School of Medicine. • Provides support for all aspects of the Dean's Senior Leadership Committee. • Coordinates arrangements for membership and annual meetings, i.e., physical and agenda. • Conducts and reports results of the governance constituency elections. • Responsible for scheduling, attending, and recording minutes at meetings of ad hoc groups, preparing correspondence • Coordination of business travel for the Dean as it relates to the College and School of Medicine. • Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and to supervise and direct activities of others. • Ability to set priorities and assume responsibility for seeing that projects are completed in a timely manner. Independent interpretation of policies and procedures and decision-making abilities are necessary. • Knowledge of the organizational structure of the School of Medicine and Meharry Medical College. • Ability to gather and disseminate information and requires the ability to relate effectively to individuals at all levels.
Required Experience
• Bachelors' degree in Business Administration from an accredited college required. Master's degree in Business Administration or Higher Education is preferred. • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals in the academic community • He/she should have at least five (5) years successful administrative experience that required ability to work under stress and pressure with tact, diplomacy, and persistence. • knowledgeable about the university and ideally the workings of the school of Medicine, including the people and programs supporting the robust academic portfolio
