The Assistant Director of Assistive Technology will act as the go to for all matters related to assistive technology. This position will oversee the administrative assistant, assistive technology and book remediation for Arapahoe Community College. This position will collaborate with faculty, staff and other internal and external stakeholders on issues surrounding accommodated testing and assistive technology. This position will report directly to the Director of Disability Access Services. This position will supervise the Disability Assistive Technologist, and Administrative Assistant, alongside the hourly staff.
This position will work directly with DAS and Instruction to ensure that students with disabilities have access to course materials, learning tools and learning assessments. This position will bring innovative approaches to advocating for students with disabilities and utilize problem-solving skills to bridge the gap between learning and assessment.

Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Special Education, Social Work, Disability, Social Justice, Rehabilitation Counseling, Accessibility, or a related field.
Experience working with people with disabilities in an educational setting.
Experience working in higher education.
Teaching experience.
Commitment to creating an inclusive learning and work environment; ability to work effectively with students, families, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds.
Strong understanding of disability law at the state and federal level including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Knowledge of assessment, accommodation, and intervention techniques for students with disabilities.
Knowledge of accessibility auditing and testing tools and strategies.
Understanding of assistive technology solutions for persons with disabilities. Ability to manage and troubleshoot technical issues for assistive technologies, including hardware and software. Advanced computer knowledge, proficiency, and skills. Must be able to function in both a Mac and PC environment.

Salary range for this position is $65,899 - $73,806, commensurate with education and experience. AP 3-45 provides information regarding salary placement and adjustments. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
