    The Shenandoah University Division of Physician Assistant Studies is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a faculty position based in Leesburg, VA. Scholar Plaza in Leesburg has a vibrant commuter campus atmosphere in bustling Northern Virginia. This is a career-contract track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, and is a full-time, in-person, 12-month faculty position reporting directly to the Physician Assistant Program Director. 

    The Director of Clinical Education (DCE), will provide leadership for the clinical team that includes one full-time staff member, faculty with clinical assignments, and several adjunct faculty. The primary responsibilities of this position include: clinical site recruitment; relationship building with preceptors; development, oversight and evaluation of clinical sites and preceptors; monitoring of student performance in the clinical year; student advisement and mentoring; and conducting clinical site visits. The DCE is also responsible for oversight and evaluation of the clinical curriculum including monitoring and analysis of student outcomes.

    In addition, they will be expected to dedicate some time to teaching at the graduate level in the didactic year; participate in interprofessional education opportunities; produce scholarship; and provide service including active participation on program, school and university committees. Opportunities are provided for professional service to the PA profession and clinical practice.  Applicants that contribute to the diversity of the faculty and profession are strongly encouraged to apply.

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    Qualifications for this position include graduation from an accredited physician assistant program, minimum of an earned Masters Degree, a minimum of two years current clinical practice experience, current NCCPA certification and eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Experience in PA education and/or clinical precepting is desirable. This position requires skills in logistical planning, problem-solving, and networking, in addition to strong communication skills needed for work with students, preceptors, and members of the medical community.
