Graduate Assistant – Strategic Communications
Cameron University, and NCAA DII member of the Lone Star Conference, is seeking candidates for a graduate assistant position in Strategic Communications. The Strategic Communications graduate assistant will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications with creative video and digital content, website and other electronic media, and media relations for Cameron’s 15 intercollegiate sports.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
· Create and post content to athletic department/select athletic programs’ social media accounts.
· Serve as the primary contact for several varsity athletic teams as assigned by the Director of Athletic Communications, including the writing of press releases and game recaps, roster and schedule maintenance on the athletics website, game programs, updating student-athlete and coach bios, media relations, and production of statistics at home events if applicable.
· Assist with creating other content including photography, capturing video, written features, development and enhancement of records and archives, and general athletic department website maintenance.
· Assisting the Director of Athletic Communications with development and implementation of athletic department media campaigns.
· Assist with production of presentations for Special Events
· Assist with Lone Star Conference Network broadcasts and all athletic web stream productions.
Qualifications
· Expertise managing various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat is preferred
Compensation
· Up to nine hours per semester of tuition and mandatory fees, on-campus apartment-style housing waiver, and $2,000 stipend.
