    Daytona State College’s School of Digital Media Production is seeking a dedicated and passionate Adjunct Faculty member to contribute to our dynamic programs in Sound for Media (MUM2630C) and Introduction to Electronic Music Production (MUC2301). This position demands a professional with a profound passion for sound and music production. The successful candidate will possess expertise in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Ableton Live, Fairlight, and Pro Tools, and will be enthusiastic about mentoring future leaders in the music and media production industries.

    Minimum Qualifications:** A Master’s degree in a related discipline with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline.

    Essential Functions/Duties:

    • Craft and execute engaging, comprehensive lesson plans for MUM2630C Sound for Media and MUC2301 Introduction to Electronic Music Production, emphasizing innovative sound production techniques.
    • Employ a variety of instructional strategies to cater to diverse learning styles, focusing on the practical and theoretical aspects of sound design and music production.
    • Deliver expert guidance on using DAWs, including Ableton Live, Fairlight, and Pro Tools, to create, edit, and produce music and sound for various media.
    • Evaluate student work with a focus on real-world applications, providing insightful feedback to foster growth and improvement.
    • Stay abreast of industry developments and incorporate cutting-edge technology and practices into the curriculum.
    • Contribute to the School of Digital Media Production’s goals through curriculum development, academic review, and participation in departmental initiatives.
    • Maintain availability for student consultations, offering mentorship and support to enhance their academic and professional trajectories.
    • Ensure adherence to the highest standards of academic integrity and compliance with all college policies and procedures.

    **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    **

    • Demonstrable professional expertise in Ableton Live, Fairlight, and Pro Tools, with a Portfolio showcasing sound and music production work.
    • A strong passion for sound and an enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring students in the field of digital media production.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
    • Previous teaching experience in higher education and familiarity with online and hybrid teaching modalities preferred.

    Education/Experience:

    HT (ASCP) certified OR an Associate’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution and one year experience in processing/embedding and microtomy in a Histopathology laboratory.
