    Shenandoah University’s School of Health Professions is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor, Division of Athletic Training and Associate Program Director for Performing Arts Medicine. This full-time benefited position will work out of our Winchester, VA campus.

    Shenandoah University’s School of Health Professions is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor in the Division of Athletic Training who will also serve as the Associate Director for the Performing Arts Medicine certificate program. The Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program is a hybrid program, requiring course delivery in both traditional and online formats.The MSAT program also pairs with the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program to offer a unique dual pathway in which select students may complete the MSAT and DPT programs simultaneously. The PAM and Esports Medicine certificate programs are primarily online programs open to graduate students and healthcare providers who wish to gain knowledge and skills specific to treating performing artists.

    The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching and student advising in the didactic and clinical phases of the MSAT, PAM and ESM programs.

    In addition, faculty within the program are expected to participate in interprofessional education opportunities; participate in scholarship; and provide service including active participation on program, school and university committees. Opportunities are provided for professional service to the AT profession and clinical practice. This position will also require clinical hours within the Shenandoah Performing Arts Rehabilitation Clinic (SPARC) and dance concert coverage.

    Qualifications for this position include:

    • Graduation from an accredited athletic training program
    • Minimum of an earned Doctoral degree (clinical or research)
    • Minimum of five years of current clinical experience
    • Minimum of two years of experience as a faculty member with teaching responsibilities at the post-baccalaureate level in the disciplines of athletic training and performing arts medicine.
    • A record of scholarship
    • Current BOC certification and eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
    • Current NATA member
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion
