Horizons One is a tuition-free technology co-op program designed to build highly technical leaders for the next generation of great software companies.

We propel students into promising careers in software engineering, product management, and entrepreneurship. We've created a 2-year track that prepares students to build companies and become top-performers wherever they go.

Students participate in a year of a rigorous and comprehensive software engineering/ product curriculum followed by a year working in high-growth, innovative companies with the support and career coaching of the Horizons Network.

Students leave Horizons One in control. With an arsenal of technical skills, experience working in high-growth environments and winning teams, and a strong industry network, you have all the recipes needed to build your own ideas or be a key contributor to the next big idea.

A bit about our team:

• Ex YC founder, active angel investor (50+ investments), Managing Parter at Early Stage VC Firm
• Early PM at Rocketship Company (Optimizely)
• Ex-Hedge Fund'er (Apollo)
• Instructors have sold companies and worked as both Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers (one of the highest levels of engineering) at companies like Salesforce, Optimizely, and DE Shaw.

Things that excite us:

• Demonstrated performance in Math or STEM-related coursework/fields
• Strong communication skills
• Grit: When have you done whatever-it-takes?
• A genuine interest in the power of software
• Any attempted (even if failed) startups in college is a big plus. Real traction (revenue and usage) is an even bigger plus.

Sample student profiles (programming experience is not required):

• Business students with finance or consulting backgrounds
• Liberal Arts students who think technology can change the world
• Engineering majors who want the software skills to hack on ideas

Other information:

• Horizons take no tuition from students. Students who demonstrate financial need will be awarded living subsidies to help with housing and food costs.

Students with demonstrated financial need will receive financial aid.
