  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, implementation, and modifications of all software-controlled PLC/equipment interfaces, data collection as well as the support of other standard electrical instruments and controls involved in the plant operations.

    • Improvement of plant efficiency, reliability, and repeatability
    • Support and Monitoring of 2 extrusion coating lines, mixing plants, and Parkinson winder software/PLC interface systems
    • Programming of Variable Frequency Drives
    • Maintaining PLC programs and keeping firmware up to date
    • Evaluate and maintain Automation hardware to ensure its current and not obsolete or at end of life
    • Maintain all process data collection from the shop floor network utilizing plc’s that feed the Mii interface to the SAP system
    • Implementation of plant wide communications/monitoring for Manufacturing Management
    • Networking of plant wide raw material monitoring for manufacturing planning and inventory
    • Development of 24 hour/day support for M61 extrusion coating line (PLC Controlled production line)
    • Familiarity with Rockwell Software products, device-net and ethernet communications.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area Follow all safety procedures and regulations
    • Follow company environmental policy; notify Supervisor, Environmental Health and Safety Department, or Human Resources of any work practice or other concern which would affect safety, environment, or company property
    • Miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Mechanical / Electrical Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

    • Knowledge of Rockwell Contrologix Software is required, Siemens is a plus

    • Knowledge of Rockwell FactoryTalk View and Wonderware

    • 2 years minimum related work experience in a related field

    • Control System design and modifications, equipment design and manufacturing, plant network design and support

    • Experience in PLC programming, and HMI development

    • Basic Computer skills, experience with Microsoft Excel and Access data bases

    • Experience in developing and maintaining production data base

    • Excellent communication and people skills

    • Team leadership aptitude

    • Analytical problem solver
