  • Responsibilities

    The Mechanical Engineering (ME) department and the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Center (RASTIC) are seeking a laboratory manager. The department and the center are searching for someone who is passionate about teaching, eager to be active in a higher education space, and ready to collaborate with faculty and students in a vibrant environment. Within both ME and RASTIC, the Lab Manager will upgrade and improve existing undergraduate educational lab exercises, and create new hands-on lab exercises to help meet course goals and program outcomes, train faculty and graduate student teaching fellows on lab equipment and lab exercises, and maintain and specify upgrades of lab equipment. Additionally, the Lab Manager will work closely with the RASTIC Director in developing interactive demonstrations for external stakeholders and in supporting students using RASTIC for projects, both personal and course-related. The successful candidate will have enthusiasm for learning, teaching, and the future of applied robotics education.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor's Degree required with preference of 3 years of related experience in engineering role
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Experience in CAD and electronics with preferred experience with 3D printers, interfacing cameras and other sensors, robotic hardware
