LEARNING & EVENT TECH SPECIALIST III, Information Services & Technology, AV/IT Field Engineering (Install/Repair)
Want to be at the cutting edge of research and innovation on a vibrant, dynamic campus shaping the future of education? Consider joining Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T). Our Technology Experience & Community team is looking for a Learning & Event Technology Specialist III (LETS III) focused on AV/IT field engineering including advanced installation, system commissioning, AV networking and repair responsibilities. Expertise with technology from the following manufacturers preferred: Crestron (programming, VC4), Q-SYS, Shure, BiAmp, Logitech, Poly/HP.
LETS supports all AV/IT related services across the Charles River campus including AV installation, repair and maintenance and design of new systems. Other staff in the group also support meetings, events and the teaching and learning mission of BU by providing best-in-class support to BU's faculty and students in their use of classroom technology.
The Technology Specialist III will assist with AV/IT installation, repair and maintenance of spaces running Crestron systems in-room and through virtual control (VC4). While all staff on the team are trained to do Tier I repair and assist with system installations when needed, the ideal candidate for this position would bring deeper Tier II/Tier III experience. Many of our design projects are coordinated with external AV integration partners except for digital signage and flat panel installations, which are often handled in-house. Experience in commissioning systems and working alongside integrators, facilities staff and trades would be helpful. This onsite position entails working occasional evenings as needed for uninterrupted access to classrooms and other spaces for diagnostics and repairs. All LETS positions may also entail limited weekend/holiday work. In return, we provide an environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, professional and personal growth, career development, open doors, life-long friendships, and a sense of purpose topped off with a touch of humor and frequent laughter (& BBQs!)
