The Learning Facilitator is a critical member of the Online MPH (OL MPH) teaching team that supports the academic success of a global student population. The OL MPH at Boston University School of Public Health is a flexible, skills-based program focused on health equity that prepares working professionals to solve real-world public health challenges. The position manages the delivery of online content and serves as the main academic touchpoint for students. As a result, a successful Learning Facilitator will need to possess a willingness and aptitude to effectively work in a fast-paced virtual environment, regardless of time zone or location.
The Learning Facilitator is responsible for a variety of activities throughout a given online module, including timely and ongoing student feedback, grading assessments consistent with rubrics designed by faculty, ensuring student questions and concerns are addressed, and leading regular office hours that accommodate multiple time zones to review content, assist with problem-solving, and offer extra sessions in areas where students need additional support.
