Description JOB GOAL: RESPONSIBILITIES: Applicants employed in this position must be able to perform the following tasks and functions which are fundamental to the purpose of the position. * To provide positive experiences for students that will develop respect and appreciation for other students, teacher, staff and property. * Monitor students in the classroom setting facilitating the completion of class assignments and a character education program. * To promote experiences that will develop healthy, positive self-concepts in children that enables them to feel successful academically, personally and socially. * To assist teachers in monitoring students behavior and taking appropriate steps to remove students from classroom, if necessary, for verbal or physical time out. * To complete and maintain accurate and thorough behavior logs. * To remain calm with verbally and physically aggressive children. * to support learning experiences that will assist students in a successful return to the classroom setting. * Maintains suitable supplies, tools, and equipment. * To participate in staff development on behavior modification, behavior disorders, Crisis Prevention Institute Training, and other appropriate in-services. * Perform other duties as assigned.
