Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and standard word processing. POSITION SUMMARY: The mission of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at Shreveport (LSUHSC-S) is three fold: teaching, research, and service. The Office for Sponsored Programs (OSPTT) is seeking a full-time grants specialist to work in the Sponsored Programs Office. The OSPTT wants to develop and cultivate a proactive and dynamic office that supports all faculty and staff in their pursuit of research programs and projects. The incumbent should be an experienced report writer and communicator who is enthusiastic about growing the research base for LSUHSC-S by facilitating grant funding opportunities, and who can successfully work with diverse faculty, staff and students as well as federal, public, private and corporate funding agencies and community partners. This person will act as a liaison with funding agencies to represent LSUHSC-S and research faculty, i.e. confirm award terms and resolve pre-award/post award non-financial issues. The incumbent will assist researchers and other LSUHSC-S faculty and staff regarding proposal preparation, interpretation of sponsor guidelines and regulations, and problem resolution. The incumbent will review research proposals and submits applications to sponsors. This person will perform lead duties pertaining to implementation and administration of our research applications and awards database.
