  • Responsibilities

    Boston University's Department of Physical Education, Recreation & Dance is looking for a Manager of Member Services to aid in the supervision and operation of the Fitness and Recreation Center's over $1.7 million membership program, including administration, member engagement and sales/promotion. This position is frontline, overseeing the member experience, including, but not limited to: billing, renewals, reporting and correspondence, giving tours to prospective members, serving as point person for new membership sales, ensuring ongoing exceptional member service, planning/executing membership communications and conducting potential member outreach programs and presentations. Responsible for the administration and advisement of the services and operations at the Member Services Desk, the Pro Shop, Track & Tennis Center and Community Skate Program to promote consistent quality member experience. Serves as Power User on Departmental Management Software team and liaison to IS&T for data imports and permissions relating to member access. Supervises Assistant Manager of Facilities and Graduate Assistant.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required, with a master's degree preferred.
    • Three to five years of experience in recreation, membership sales or related field.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve pre- defined goals/results.
    • Advanced computer/technical skills in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
    • Knowledge of SAP and Vermont Systems preferred.
