    Opportunity at a Glance

    The Manager, Academic Support (Manager) works closely with university leadership as well as academic support staff in various departments and colleges to develop, plan, and execute engagement events throughout the student journey and faculty/staff experience. Reporting to the Director of Operations within the Office of Academic Affairs, the Manager will collaborate on supporting branches of our strategic plan including focusing on unique and elite student experiences and fostering a sense of belonging. This involves engaging in event strategy planning and working with leadership and other functional areas on logistical planning for faculty/staff meetings, commencement ceremonies, conferences, town halls, social change events, etc. In this role, you will work as a member of our Academic Affairs Team in an environment that values collaboration, innovation, and diverse perspectives.

    As a Manager, you'll need to have a strong interest in technology, event marketing, and communications. You'll need excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and proven success in planning and executing in-person and virtual events. You should also have a desire to develop best practices and processes and keep current on event trends, technologies, and approaches.

    Responsibilities

    • Plans and organizes event logistics and communications for group travel to academic events in the United States; develops event budgets; partners with Adtalem Events to schedule and service contracts that cost-effectively achieve event objectives; partners with university leadership and stakeholders to plan even logistics; monitors execution and provides event support as required.

    • Organizes, plans and delivers virtual synchronous and asynchronous events that are engaging, foster a sense of belonging and achieve university and programmatic goals and objectives.

    • Collaborates with university leadership, deans, associate deans and other stakeholders to formulate consistent university-wide approaches that support various academic initiatives and events.

    • Manages and oversees event builds in various platforms as well as event marketing and communications.

    • Reviews, develops, and administers procedures, policies, requirements, and infrastructure support utilized across the university related to branches of our strategic plan including areas that contribute to unique and elite student experiences and fostering a sense of belonging throughout the community.

    • Monitors adherence to university policies and seeks to improve operations and practices that focus on strategic priorities.

    • Gathers and analyzes data relating to synchronous academic activities and assessments for dashboards and reports on event performance.

    • Supervises colleagues within the Academic Affairs Team.

    • Travels to support university academic events. Work hours will flex periodically to accommodate evening and weekend event support.

    • Serves on working groups for academic initiatives as needed.

    • Complies with all policies and standards.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree Required

    • Proven experience and success in planning and executing digital and in-person events such including event strategy and planning, relationship-building, financial planning, and event logistics planning. Required

    • Demonstrated success in event and/or project management and proven knowledge of industry tools like Certain, On24, Zoom, Teams, Excel, and other Microsoft platforms. Preferred

    • Experience managing or leading teams. Preferred

    • Superior written and verbal communication skills with an outstanding attention to detail.

    • Ability to manage time and handle multiple priorities to achieve high-quality deliverables.

    • Willingness to mentor, lead, prioritize work projects, and creatively problem-solve across teams.

    • Willingness and ability to travel and to work occasionally during evenings and weekends based on academic event schedules.

    • Excellent leadership, organization, collaboration, team building, and human relation skills.

    • Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds in a collaborative manner.

    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Additional Information

    _In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $70696.34 and $124230.14. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
