    OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT

    Marlborough School seeks an engaged and dynamic Middle School Health Educator to join our faculty for the 2024-2025 school year. Identity, healthy relationships, coping strategies, executive functioning skills, mental health, substance awareness, reproductive health, and nutrition are some of the topics covered in Marlborough’s Health curriculum. The Health Educator will join a small teaching team with the opportunity to create curriculum and shape the future of Health Education at Marlborough. The Health Educator will also work closely with the Education and Counseling Services Department to develop Marlborough’s social and emotional learning programming.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    ● Teach Middle School Health classes

    ● Teach Methodologies for Personal and Academic Success lessons

    ● Collaborate with the Health Education Department and Education and Counseling Services Department

    ● Contribute to social and emotional learning programming and curriculum development as needed

    ● Adhere to Marlborough’s academic policies, guidelines, and expectations

    ● Plan, prepare, and deliver academically sophisticated and pedagogically engaging lessons for the appropriate developmental level and course designation

    ● Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, student services, deans, and other administrators

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    ● Possess, at minimum, a B.A. in Human Development, Health Education, or Social Work (or related field). Masters degrees in Health Education or Social Work (or related field) are preferred.

    ● 1-3 years of teaching experience at the secondary level (middle school preferred).

    ● Possess confidence in their disciplinary and pedagogical expertise while remaining committed to professional growth and innovation in both these areas.

    ● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    ● Possess a high degree of interest in supporting the developmental needs of young women, including experience with and enthusiasm for positive identity development and diversity, equity, and inclusion work.

    COMPENSATION

    ● This is a 60% time position. The competitive annual salary ranges from $40,000 to $54,000.
