Job Description
We are looking for a Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our team.
No formal teaching experience is required, but it is preferred. If you have experience precepting, training, or mentoring then this is a natural progression in your career of making a difference in your profession!
The curriculum is fully established and orientation includes a week-long async course that focuses on being an instructor.
This position will be in the role of a lab instructor, focusing on real-life skills and procedures in a hands-on environment. The position will provide instruction that meets desired learning outcomes, academic advising, and career-related counseling to students, actively engage in retention activities, and provide support for program and institutional initiatives.
Responsibilities:
SCHEDULE"
Monday: 1pm-5:30 on campus
Tuesday 10am-2:30 on campus
Wednesday 1pm-5:30 on campus
Thursday 10am - 2:30 on campus
Friday 4 hours on campus time is flexible. This is for admin work no instruction
Qualifications
* Minimum of a High School Diploma; advanced education or college degree preferred but will consider candidates with equivalent experience
* Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program preferred
* Certified Medical Assistant (RMA, CMA, NRCMA) preferred
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
* Three demonstrable (3) years of hands-on clinical experience in the medical assistant role with discernable Phlebotomy responsibilits
* Current knowledge of Medical Assistant practice
* Ability to mentor a highly diverse student population
* Ability to work independently
* Proficient in Microsoft Office software-Experience with learning management systems such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc. preferred
* Proficient in interpersonal oral presentation; excellent communication skills
