    The North Central Texas Council of Governments Transportation Department is seeking an entry- or mid-level Commuter Outreach Specialist to support the Travel Demand Management (TDM) Program which focuses on promoting alternative commute options to reduce roadway congestion and improve air quality within the North Central Texas region. This position will assist in activities related to promoting alternative commute options such as carpooling, vanpooling, transit, biking, walking, telecommuting, and flexible work schedules; all strategies that reduce the demand for drive-alone travel on regional roadways. This position will be classified as an entry-level Transportation Planner I. Applicants wishing to be considered for this position should apply online at https://jobs.silkroad.com/NCTCOG/Careers.     RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

    • Assisting with the oversight of the Regional Employer Trip Reduction Program
    • Assisting with the oversight of TryParkingIt.com, the region’s commuter tracking and rideshare website, and the associated commuter rewards program
    • Assisting with coordination activities related to the implementation of the regional Trip Reduction Single Occupancy Vehicle Target
    • Assisting the public with Try Parking It requests and ride-match inquiries
    • Serving as the agency’s Employee Transportation Coordinator, performing regular duties related to the implementation of the agency’s Alternative Commute Program
    • Assisting with the development of TDM outreach materials and awareness campaigns
    • Assisting regional partners and employers with TDM-related data requests
    • Assisting with coordination activities for transit agencies, public and private employers, and the public on TDM projects
    • Assisting with annual performance reports for regional TDM programs
    • Assisting with the creation and maintenance of TDM-related databases
    • Assisting with TDM research and data collection efforts
    • Assisting in the completion of monthly staff status reports
    • Assisting with the review and approval process of TDM program invoices
    • Preparing and delivering oral presentations
    • Assisting with the maintenance of the regional park-and-ride facility inventory database
    • Producing and working with supervisor to interpret data, charts, maps, and reports
    • Drafting memorandums, letters, documentation, progress reports, articles, and annual reports

    SALARY

    Minimum of $36,976.00 annually
