VP for Institutional Effectiveness & Student Affairs -DEPARTMENT:Counseling Services -SECTOR:Student Affairs -SUMMARY: -Under routine supervision, the Clinical Coordinator of Counseling Services isresponsible for the daily operations and administrative oversight and direction of counseling services, including supervision of staff, development and oversight of clinical policies and procedures consistent with all compliance and university regulations, and collaboration across the campus and with community partners. The Clinical Coordinator provides direct individual and group counseling, assessment and crisis intervention, prevention and outreach programming, and consultation and collaboration on service delivery. The Clinical Coordinator will play a strategic role in developing an integrated model of physical and mental health care that aligns with a mission of student-centered holistic wellness. -ESSENTIAL DUTIES: -Provide individual and group mental health counseling services to university students; Plan, develop and implement mental health counseling services for university students; Supervise all personnel in the Office of Counseling Services; Review and apply all policies and procedures outlined in the university Affirmative Action Plan;Considered Essential Personnel whose physical presence is required on campus and must also be prepared to address those functions remotely (from off-campus) as needed when operations are restricted or the campus is closed;Responsible for management of budget associated with department;Maintain confidentiality of information (including but not limited to: student and employee personal information, student grades, etc.), both during and after their employment with the University. Any question regarding the confidentiality of material, should be referred to the supervisor. Any violation shall subject the employee to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment; Perform other duties as assigned. -GENERAL DESCRIPTION: -40% Administrative and Clinical Oversight 30%Direct provision of individual and group counseling 10% Staff Development 10% Outreach Services 10% Consultation -REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: -Knowledge and experience working with short-term delivery systems for providing counseling and psychotherapy are required; Ability to form strong working/collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff members while maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards; Excellent crisis management skills;Ability to work with a diverse student population; On-call responsibilities; Sufficient manual dexterity with proficiency to handle various office machines including but not limited to: computer, keyboard, computer software applications, calculator, copy machine and fax machine; Ability to receive telephone call, respond to inquiries and communicate with others with or without reasonable accommodations; Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills; Ability to drive a personal or university vehicle for the purpose of university business on an occasional basis; -ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS: -The functions of the position usually performed sitting, but may require some amount of time standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. Tasks involving working on a computer keyboard, computer software applications, calculator, cutting, labeling, and taping involve extensive wrist and hand movement. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others. -QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: -Masters Degree in Counseling or related field from an accredited program and a minimum of 3 years post-licensure experience is required;New York State licensed: LCSW,LMHCA;Broad clinical experience in individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach education, consultation and clinical supervision is required;Experience in a college/university setting is strongly preferredExperience with proactive utilization of off-campus referrals for individuals in need of long term or specialized treatment;A valid New York State drivers license is required that satisfies both University and insurance company underwriting rules and regulations for driving a motor vehicle.
