Job Description
The Department of Business Administration at Augsburg University invites applications for a special appointment to teach accounting for the 2025-2026 academic year, beginning August 18, 2025. Candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity as well as success in teaching and serving students from diverse communities are especially encouraged to apply. Upon approval of the Department and the Provost, a candidate may move to a tenure track position after a Third Year Review has been undertaken and successfully passed.
The teaching load is seven courses per year. The Business Administration Department holds accreditation through the ACBSP and stresses active and experiential learning. Faculty are able to get to know students well in small classes typically with fewer than 30 students. The Department is housed in our newest building, the Hagfors Center for Science, Business and Religion.
Collaborations within the Department and across the University are valued in order to provide the highest caliber education for our students through opportunities such as internships, faculty/student research and service learning opportunities. Our location in Minneapolis provides broad-ranging opportunities for collaboration with industry partners, as well as colleagues at the numerous colleges and universities in the Twin Cities.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates will have a master's degree in accounting, preferably with direct upper level accounting experience or an MBA and a CPA or CMA with five years of direct upper level accounting experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to candidates who have obtained their degree from an AACSB-accredited program.
The preferred candidate will be able to teach a wide variety of lower and upper division courses.

The compensation range is $75,000 - $80,000, DOQ.
