    POSITION TITLE: ADJUNCT FACULTY – AUTOMOTIVE DEPARTMENT: Automotive POSITION TYPE: Adjunct Faculty REPORTS TO: Wayne Moody ANTICIPATED START DATE: Spring 2021 Semester STARTING SALARY RANGE: $590.00 - $707.00 per contact hour (Click on the following link to view the Adjunct Faculty Salary Scale)

     

    SUMMARY 

    This adjunct faculty member is responsible for teaching Automotive Heating and Air Conditioning (AT170) with the possibility of teaching other Automotive courses in the future for the Technical Academic Area. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering instruction to students in cooperation with other faculty, promptly assessing student coursework, apprising students of progress, and keeping proper class-related records. This adjunct faculty member is a member of the professional teaching staff who will be responsible for effectively implementing the mission of Northwestern Michigan College as well as the Technical Academic Area. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to relate well to a diverse population of learners. This position may include teaching nights, weekends, and/or online instruction.

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS

    REQUIRED:

    • 6 years of experience in automotive heating and air conditioning
    • Certified in HVAC

    PREFERRED:

    • 10 years of experience in automotive repair
    • ASE Master Certification
    • Specialty in automotive heating and air conditioning
    • College degree or certificate in automotive repair

      BENEFITS All adjunct faculty are required to be part of the Michigan Public Schools Employee Retirement System (MPSERS). Adjunct faculty are eligible to receive tuition benefits during the following academic year based on the contacts taught in the previous academic year.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None.

    WORK HOURS This is a part-time position. The work hours may include teaching nights and/or weekends.
