Adjunct Faculty - Chemistry Instructor
POSITION TITLE: ADJUNCT FACULTY – CHEMISTRY INSTRUCTOR DEPARTMENT: Chemistry POSITION TYPE: Adjunct Faculty REPORTS TO: Academic Chair, Science & Math ANTICIPATED START DATE: Summer 2021 Semester STARTING SALARY RANGE: $608.00 - $707.00 per contact hour (Click on the following link to view the Adjunct Faculty Salary Scale)
SUMMARY This adjunct faculty member is responsible for teaching in the Chemistry Department, including lectures, labs, and recitation instructions in one or more of the following courses: Introductory Chemistry, General Chemistry, (Organic Chemistry), and in cooperation with other faculty. The instructor will also be expected to maintain labs, equipment and reagent inventories and to assist in the development and revision of courses as needed. This adjunct faculty member is a member of the professional teaching staff that is responsible for effectively implementing the mission of NMC and the Science/Math discipline. Work hours may include teaching nights, weekends, and/or online instruction.

BENEFITS All adjunct faculty are required to be part of the Michigan Public Schools Employee Retirement System (MPSERS). Adjunct faculty are eligible to receive tuition benefits during the following academic year based on the contacts taught in the previous academic year.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES May supervise student lab assistants.
WORK HOURS This is a part-time position. The work hours may include teaching nights and/or weekends.
