OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIALIST, Research Compliance
The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist position is primarily based on the Medical Campus while remaining flexible in assignments across all areas and departments served by EHS including Boston Medical Center. The specific duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following; conducting health and safety inspections and assessments, fire safety inspections, fire drills, worker health and safety training, construction safety assessments and safety plan development, and maintaining associated records.
Required Skills
Requires: B.A./B.S. in a related field, basic knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations and OSHA standards, and a minimum of three to five years of fire safety and/or occupational safety experience and training, preferably in an academic or healthcare setting. Specific health and safety experience and certificates in related field or professional certifications. Have knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations and OSHA standards. Valid drivers license required. Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations and OSHA standards. Must have or obtain the 24 or 40-hour OSHA hazardous waste operations and emergency response training. This position requires successful completion of a pre-placement physical.
