    Overview of the Office and Position

    The Office of Events & Activities works with on- and off-campus partners to create programs and experiences that connect users to each other and the institution. The office serves as the hub for facility reservations across campus and provides involvement and connection opportunities for current students. This position primarily works with student-focused initiatives, but also provides support to some all-campus events, and handles some facility reservations. The Coordinator for Activities is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Events & Activities.


    Job Duties, include, but are not limited to:


    Departmental Responsibilities

    · Advise the student-led Programming Activities Council, including providing leadership to the Executive Board and event oversight

    · Oversee the expansion and support of student organizations and their leaders and members, including educating them on university policies and procedures and supporting their development and growth

    · Manage facility reservations for student organizations, including determining appropriate locations, set-ups, and support needs

    · Advise/Coordinate/Assist with specific student initiatives as determined by the Director


    General Office Support

    · Supervises 1 (one) graphic design intern

    · Assists in the planning and coordination of all-campus activities, both targeted toward students and the larger campus community

    · Assists with the implementation of Orientation and other new student programs

    · Assists with McMahon Centennial Complex operations

    · Serves on various university committees as a liaison for the Office of Events and Activities

    Required Skills

    · Bachelor’s degree required.

    · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with university colleagues

    · Ability to work well with diverse populations

    · Ability to facilitate in an informal workshop setting.

    · Ability to work independently and in a team environment

    · Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills

    · Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and oral communication skills

    · Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under the University’s policy.


    Preferred Qualifications

    · Three or more years of applicable experience, preferably in a higher education setting.


    Salary Range : Budgeted at $30,000/annually plus benefits. Opportunity for performance compensation subject to approval and budgetary availability.
